A Christian Master Potter, with over 40 years experience in clay. God has very patiently taken me from thinking of Him (if I thought of Him at all) as distant, uncaring, and judgmental to knowing Him as my loving father, and my constant companion, walking hand in hand with me through this life. The only one who knows me completely, forgives me completely and truly loves me unconditionally. This transformation was possible through very special friends, mentors, and lots of prayer. Over the past couple years God has shown me through my pottery, how He works in our lives just like the potter works the clay. And now I would like to share this with others.
I chose the name “The Cracked Potter” for 2 reasons first because I’m a little quirky and crazy (in a good way) and second from the Japanese art of Kintsugi: there is beauty in the broken. Kintsugi is the art of repairing broken pottery with gold rendering the piece more beautiful than before. I think its a great metaphor as we are all broken before Christ yet become more beautiful as He “fixes” us.
My pottery business is called Amorphic ArtWorks. Another great metaphor for how we are always growing and changing as God works in our lives. But also fits because most of my work is asymmetrical, and free flowing.
